Laughery Creek Cleanup – Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed for the 2011 River Sweep - Laughery Creek Cleanup, Saturday July 23 along Laughery Creek in Friendship, IN. The River Sweep is a riverbank cleanup that extends the entire length of the Ohio River and includes cleanups on many of the river’s tributaries. This is the largest environmental event of its kind and encompasses six states. Anyone who wants to make a difference in the water quality of the Ohio River and Laughery Creek should volunteer for this year’s River Sweep. Each volunteer will receive a FREE 2011 T-shirt. This is an excellent opportunity for citizens to play an active role in improving the environment. The cleanup will begin at the Ernie Laker parking lot along Hwy 62 at 9:00am and will last until 11:00am. To register please call the South Laughery Creek Watershed Project in the Historic Hoosier Hills RC&D office at (812)689-4107.
